- Please review the printed instructions given to you when you visited our office.
- You may be asked to "Pre-register" at the hospital by telephone or by internet before your procedure.
- Most of the things that you need will be provided to you.
- Valuables such as jewelry will be locked up for you by the hospital Security Services
- If you are taking Aspirin, Coumadin, Warfarin, or Plavix, please make sure you follow any instructions to stop those medications.
- Make sure you have an empty stomach!
- Starting at 12:01 AM on the day of your procedure you should not eat or drink anything, EXCEPT:
- A small sip of water to take your medications is allowed. Please ask your surgeon which of your medications should be skipped.
- Some bowel preparation medications need to be taken on the morning of your procedure if you are doing a "2 day" or "Split Prep."
- Please Bring information on your preferred pharmacy.
- If you live alone or are concerned you may need more assistance after discharge, please let your surgeon know.
- You will be evaluated by the Case Coordination / Social Work staff at your hospital to ensure a smooth transition back to your home.
